The idea behind our name.

Five thousand years ago, in the cities between the Tigris and the Euphrates, someone pressed a cut reed into a piece of wet clay no bigger than a palm. The oldest writing humanity has recovered is not a poem or a prayer. It is a record of barley — how much, from whom, owed to whom. Writing was invented to run things.

The tablet itself was never the achievement. What changed the world was what a tablet made possible: knowledge that left one person’s head and became something a whole city could check, question, correct and build on. A lawḥ is that surface. Our Arabic name begins there — and then adds a second word.

Ibtikār. Innovation. The two words sit together for a reason: recording is not the accomplishment, acting is. Organizations today hold more information than any scribe could have imagined, and still find it hard to turn that information into a decision. That distance — between what an organization knows and what it does with what it knows — is where our work happens. In English we are simply IPC. In practice, we start with how your organization actually operates: its people, its processes, its information, and the systems that carry all three forward.
